MISSION
The purpose of the Friends of the Library is to encourage and assist in the establishment, maintenance and further development of a free public library, branches thereof, and library services in Collier County, and to support education through the use of library facilities.

STATUS
The Friends of the Library is incorporated and has been accorded Section 501(c)(3) status as a nonprofit corporation by the Internal Revenue Service. Additionally, the Friends of the Library is listed with the authoritative GuideStar national directory of non-profit organizations.

GOVERNANCE
The Friends of the Library is governed by a Board of Directors elected from the membership of the Corporation for terms of three years. The Board oversees the programs, projects, and financial status of the Friends; appoints committees to provide for the efficient management of the affairs of the corporation; and raises funds through contributions, subscriptions, dues, legacies, devises, and other legal means.

MEETINGS
Meetings of the Friends and Friends Board are open to the public and include an agenda of Board business, reports of Committees, and discussion of projects and activities. Meetings are scheduled for the second Monday of the month at 3:00 p.m., held in the Mackworth G. Rees meeting room at the Central Avenue Library. We invite you to attend.
