FOL Members Updates

Seasonal Message

It’s my pleasure to welcome our many seasonal members back to Naples for another busy winter – how great to be able to say that and say hello to our Naples area residents. By the time you receive this note, we will have already kick started our activities with our first Beach Series event at the Sugden Theatre and our first Signature Series event. The rest are well underway to success as reflected in the high attendance levels expected at this year’s author presentation events.

My focus today is on a couple of housekeeping matters. First, I’m very happy to announce that the 2022 calendar by John Bartoldus, a long-term Friends of the Library benefactor, will shortly be on sale in many of our libraries. He has created a 25-year memorial package that you will certainly enjoy. Remember, a good calendar is still a kitchen necessity!

We’ve recently learned of some administrative changes at the Collier County Public Libraries modifying their procedure for handling Friends of the Library membership applications at their various sites. The good news is that Friends promotional material will still be available on site so that our presence will continue to be strong. Applications can still be picked up and mailed using forms that will be available in the libraries or our improved web site tools make membership sign-up easy. Event sign-ups will only be available online or by calling our office.

Our office staff continue to work offsite reflecting not only Covid measures but also because the Naples Regional facility is undergoing extensive HVAC renovations that will take until at least the end of the year. In the meantime, phone and email contacts are still available.

Please enjoy our free to members Signature Series held in libraries that you can sign up for online, try to attend our Local Author Book Fair at the South Regional library on November 13, and watch for an announcement of our Member Appreciation event in March. Check out the details on our web site!
